Privacy Policy
Draft. This Privacy Policy will be reviewed by a lawyer before Weevii opens to the public, and may change.
1. Who we are
Weevii is run by [company or operator name], which decides how your data is used. For anything about your data, write to support@weevii.com. Website: www.weevii.com
2. What we collect
- Account: email address, password (kept only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), username, first and last name, and date of birth.
- Profile: picture, bio and your privacy choices.
- What you do: posts, photos, comments, likes, saves, polls and votes, collectibles, messages, clan chat and photos, clans, events, Interested marks, people you orbit, blocks, reports and feedback.
- Activity: when you last used Weevii (for “Active now”), even if you hide it from others.
- Phone notifications: a notification token for your phone and the kinds of notification you turned off.
- Technical: sign-in sessions, and the records our hosting provider keeps when the app talks to it (such as IP address and time), for security.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app has no advertising or tracking tools.
3. Your date of birth
Used only to confirm you are 18 or older. It is stored separately, is never shown to other members or in the moderation tools, and is not used for advertising.
4. Photos
Photos you choose from your phone are saved again without their hidden details (such as location, camera and time) and made smaller before they are uploaded. Stickers and GIFs you send from your keyboard are sent as your keyboard provides them. Photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived links to people allowed to see them; chat photos only to the people in that chat or clan.
5. How we use your data
- To run Weevii: show your profile, posts and collectibles to the people your settings allow, deliver messages, notifications and event reminders, and keep clans and events working.
- To keep Weevii safe: check age, review reports, apply limits and blocked words, and investigate abuse.
- To answer you and improve Weevii: read feedback and problem reports.
We do not sell your data and do not show ads. The legal bases for each use are [legal bases, to be confirmed in legal review].
6. Who can see what
Public accounts: your profile and posts are visible to signed-in members aged 18+. Private accounts: only people you accept see your posts and collectibles. Your username, name, picture and Orbit counts are visible to members; you can hide your Orbitors and Orbiting lists and your active status. Messages are seen only by the people in the chat, clan chat by the clan’s members. Blocking hides you from each other.
Weevii moderators can see reported content (including a reported message), account details such as email address when they act on an account, and feedback you send. The moderation tools show a chat message only when someone reports it.
7. Service providers and transfers
- Supabase hosts our database, sign-in, file storage and server functions, in [data region].
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers phone notifications. For message notifications it carries the sender’s name, the message text and a link to their picture that expires after 10 minutes. Turn off message notifications in Settings › Notifications if you prefer.
- Hostinger handles email sent to support@weevii.com.
These providers may process data in other countries; where the law requires, transfers are covered by [transfer safeguards, to be confirmed].
8. Storage and security
Database rules limit each person to what they are allowed to see. Connections are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at support@weevii.com if you find a problem.
9. Keeping and deleting data
Delete your account in Settings › Account › Delete account, or by email to support@weevii.com (the Delete your account page on www.weevii.com explains how).
Deleting your account deletes your profile, date of birth, posts, comments, photos, collectibles, polls, saves, orbits, notifications and phone notification tokens. Chats you were in are deleted for both people. A clan you lead passes to its Vice-Captain (or another member), or is deleted if nobody else is in it.
We keep reports you made and feedback you sent, without your name or email, and the moderation log of actions taken (which keeps an internal account number but not your name or email), for [how long, to be decided], for safety and legal reasons. Copies may remain in our provider’s backups until they expire.
You can also delete single posts, messages (for you or for everyone) and chats at any time.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can do much of this in the app (Edit profile, Privacy, Delete account); for the rest write to support@weevii.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
11. Changes
We tell you in the app before important changes to this policy apply.
